If you include a service macro such as $SERVICENAME$ in a host notification, it becomes '$' in the output. Expected behavior is that nothing would be printed in the output. |

Nagios ships the string as-is to the shell, which tries to expand the unresolved macro as a shell variable, and fails, causing it to substitute it with the empty string. Use single-quotes in your command definitions and you'll see the $SERVICENAME$ parameter in there somewhere. |
